BP Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team number one driver Mikko Hirvonen has taken the win on Repco Rally Australia, after a stewards' decision demoted Sebastien Loeb to second place.

Loeb had been declared the winner, but six hours after the official finish he was handed a one-minute penalty when it was discovered that the front suspension parts on his Citroen C4 WRC did not comply with the homologation records for the car.

Pembalap nomor satu BP Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team, Mikko Hirvonen telah memenangkan Repco Rally Australia, setelah panitia memutuskan Sebastien Loeb diturunkan ke tempat kedua.
Loeb telah dinyatakan sebagai pemenang, tetapi enam jam setelah selesai lomba, ia mendapatkan satu-menit penalty, ketika ditemukan bahwa bagian-bagian suspensi depan di Citroen C4 WRC nya tidak sesuai dengan catatan homologasi kendaraan.

Home glory for Hirvonen

BP Ford Abu Dhabi number one driver Mikko Hirvonen took his third win on the trot and his first on home soil today, when he brought his Focus RS WRC car to finish of the 2009 Neste Oil Rally Finland.

The result extends his lead in the battle for the 2009 WRC drivers' title, although it is still very tight with only three points between Hirvonen and Loeb heading to the next event in Australia at the start of September.

Pembalap nomor 1 BP Ford Abu Dhabi, Mikko Hirvonen meraih kemenangan ke tiga di negaranya sendiri, ketika itu dia membawa mobil Focus RS WRC finish pada Neste Oil Rally Finlandia 2009.

Hasil ini membuat dia memimpin persaingan gelar juara dunia , meskipun masih sangat ketat dengan perbedaan hanya tiga poin antara Hirvonen dan Loeb menyusul rally berikutnya di Australia pada awal September.

Hirvonen: Rally Poland best of season

Speaking at the finish in Mikolajki, after taking his second win in succession and the lead in the race for the 2009 drivers' championship, Hirvonen said the organisers' had a lot to be proud about.

"I think it was a very good rally. There were lots of spectators and standing in good places. There were no problems with traffic and we had really enjoyable stages," said the Finn.

Loeb has a mistake on the first day when he crashed out in SS4 - the 33.17 kilometre Paprotki 1 test, cost him any chance of getting a decent result.

Berbicara di finish di Mikolajki, sesudah keberhasilannya meraih gelar juara yang kedua kalinya dan merebut perolehan angka sementara, Hirvonen mengatakan bahwa panitia harus berbangga dengan ini.

"Saya pikir ini rally yang baik. Banyak penonton berdiri ditempat yang aman. Tidak ada masalah lalu lintas, dan kami meenikmati stagenya, " kata Hirvonen.

Loeb membuat kesalahan pada hari pertama ketika mobilnya kecelakann di SS4 sehingga tidak memperoleh angka yang cukup.

Setelah seri sebelumnya digagalkan oleh Jari Matti, pada seri ini juga Loeb gagal menjadi juara setelah mengalami kecelakaan di hari kedua, Klenia Mycenae stage (SS7). Loeb menjelaskan bahwa dia terlalu cepat mengambil tikungan ke kanan, sehingga akhirnya mobilnya tergelincir ke kiri dan menabrak batu. Hirvonen menjadi juara pada seri ini.
